History

Formerly known as Ichthys Rods, Trinity Rods was founded by Bert Baetz in August 2003. After discovering a passion for fly-fishing, Bert later picked up the trade of rod-building.

In the summer of 2000 Bert moved to Jackson Hole, WY to test an interest in fresh-water trout fly-fishing. Since then his keen appreciation for the sport has taken him fly-fishing in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, Alaska, North Carolina and as far as New Zealand. Always ready to explore new facets of the sport Bert sought a relationship with the pioneers of the highest performance rod design and composition. Venturing to Austin, Texas in order to build his own personal fly rods, Bert's quality craftsmanship was not left unnoticed. Avid sportsmen began to make the most of Bert's expertise and the founding of Trinity Rods was destined. Trinity has built a variety of custom fresh-water and salt-water fly-fishing rods for the serious fisherman throughout the country.
